Resurrection day! (Not part of the 30days)

I wanted to share our Easter celebrations this year.  We did the normal egg hunts with family and dear friends but we focused more on the Risen Savior this year then we had in the past.  I was able to create my own resurrection eggs this year with some free printables that I found.  (Although next year I will buy them so that we have the trinkets.  G man didn't mind the pictures in the eggs but may have paid more attention if there was a trinket inside.)  We started 12 days before Easter and slowly told the Easter story one egg at a time.

We also made resurrection rolls this morning.  We started with a jumbo marshmallow in the roll but after we cooked it the roll was empty!!  Just like the tomb!

My favorite thing that we did was a twist on leaving an Easter basket filled with goodies.  I found this pin on Pinterest.  We wrote our sins on rocks and placed them in their Easter baskets.  in the morning their sins were put on a paper with Jesus' name on it and their baskets were filled with goodies.  My husband and I talked with them about how Jesus died for our sins on the cross and we get to live with him again in Heaven if we choose to follow His word.  I thought this was an AWESOME way to explain the meaning of Easter to young children!!
